And now for another NOT shocking story. The National Enquirer reports this week that Natalie Portman and her Black Swan costar Mila Kunis are engaged in some kind of bitch-fight. Also not shocking? It’s one-sided. As in, Natalie is completely outraged that Mila Kunis is also being lauded for her performance in Black Swan, when all of the attention was supposed to be on just Natalie. Meanwhile, Mila just seems like “hey, I’m in a movie, that’s so cool!” I realize that it’s the Enquirer, and disclaimer, disclaimer, etc, but who else totally believes this dynamic? Who else thinks that perhaps this is the reason for The Plague of Portman Bitchfaces?
NATALIE PORTMAN livid at Black Swan costar MILA KUNIS! Natalie, 29, dances the lead in the ballet-themed film, but Mila’s getting Oscar buzz for her supporting role, and Natalie is NOT happy, sources say.
“This was supposed to be Natalie’s BIG role, so she’s totally upset that Mila is getting so much praise,” an insider told The ENQUIRER. “Natalie’s confident about her performance, but she clearly didn’t expect Mila to be getting so much Oscar talk.”
Not unlike real life, in Black Swan, the two actresses play rival ballerinas competing for the title role in “Swan Lake.”
And while Natalie was nominated for a Film Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead, it was Mila who was awarded the Marcello Mastroianni Award at the Venice Film Festival for best young actor.
As for the Oscars, “Natalie knows that the Best Actress category is more competitive and Supporting Actress honors usually go to an unexpected newcomer – like Mila,” said the source.
“It’s like when Jennifer Hudson stole every single scene from Beyonce in Dreamgirls. And look what happened there – Jennifer walked away with the Academy Award!”

Oh no they didn’t just compare Natalie Portman to Beyonce!! That’s hilarious. For the record, I think Natalie is way more talented than Beyonce, and I also think Portman is a heavy contender, and even a favorite for the Best Actress Oscar. But I also think that little Mila Kunis could walk away with an Oscar nomination too – just this morning, she was nominated for a SAG, whoever is running Black Swan’s Oscar campaign is putting some money in for Mila too (and Vincent Cassel, too, I hope). Will Mila win an Oscar? Doubtful. But considering no one really expected anyone but Natalie to get nominated, the whole “just being nominated is enough of an award” trope will ring true for Mila, and her profile will be raised significantly. Plus, Mila just seems like a sweeter, funnier, cooler and more grounded girl when compared to Natalie “I Went To Harvard and I‘m Magnificently Obtuse and Brilliant” Portman.
